My honest opinion is than not enough folk are kicked off this site...how many times have you seen someone who just posts inflammatory/irrelevant crap...and then when they get bored or challenged start

Dont get post in this neck of the woods , postman scared to come down the drive for some reason or other. plenty pubs though haha Look at that for spelling a damn miracle I tell you. Hahaha

It would be cruel and unjust to censor folk,..for the style in which they contribute towards a thread....   The criteria for wrist slapping, and any subsequent adjudication thereafter, should always

I would love to shove that big key somewhere

You're not the first.........

If you think I give a damn what you or anyone else thinks about me you are sadly mistaken.

I've dealt with bigger and brighter forum warriors than some of the members here in the past, and I'm happy to continue doing so.

If you think that's abusive then you need to get out more

Seriously though fella. Lay off the locking. It's ever so frustrating. Surely it's as easy to give a warning that its going to be locked if the bickering doesn't stop. And then delete the offenders posts?

Read what I wrote....

When you've got a busy thread going wrong, it doesn't help when people post while you are cleaning it up. It ends up being a never ending job.

Much easier to lock up, clean up, then unlock if it's appropriate.

If people post pointless, meaningless threads that are going nowhere, (like "why was that thread locked for five minutes"), then it gets locked and stays locked unless another mod decides to open it up again.

Sorry if you don't like it, but that's life, eh?

That's part of a public forum though isn't it?

There will be pointless meaningless threads. And posts that not everyone will agree with. Including the mods?

I thought your task was to keep threads legal and above board? Alot of threads you lock don't need locking.

Edited to add - I aren't talking about locking for a few minutes while you "clean them up". I mean locking them for good because you don't like them.

OK, Gaz, tell me which threads I've locked that didn't need it?

And just to remind you; membership isn't compulsory; if you don't like it, don't log in!

Yes, the moderators are here to keep things legal and above board, but we also have to see that members obey the rules which include not posting inflammatory or derogatory rubbish.

It's quite rare that I even bother to moderate posts or members; usually following reports or private messages to me, or when I happen to stumble on some THL forum warriors who want to play silly buggers and muck up otherwise decent threads.

I've been a member of this site for a good few years, and I've seen lots of decent people leave in frustration at the lack of policing of the chavs and keyboard hunters who need kicking off never mind warning.

Like I said, if you don't like it you know what to do.
